P-Tu-BRC-13 Synthesis, Characterization, and Catalysis of Apoferritin Encapsulated Core-shell Bimetallic Nanoparticles

Narrow-size distributed, water-soluble Au-core Ag-shell nanoparticles with a size range from 1 to 5 nm are synthesized using  apoferritin as a template. Liquid chromatography, electron microscopy, small angle x-ray scattering, extended X-ray absorption fine structure confirms that the particles have a core-shell structure with Au core covered with Ag shell.
