Intrazeolite platinum clusters in zeolite MFI, where platinum clusters are in very close proximity to acid sites, increase n-heptane isomerization turnover rates by factors of 2-10 compared to zeolite MFI alone. We investigate these phenomena and the mechanistic implications on model catalysts for industrial hydroisomerization and hydrocracking processes.
