The biggest challenge to upgrade pyrolysis oil is to  develop an active, selective and stable catalyst. With modification of Al, hydrothermal stability of supports are enhanced. Highly dispersed catalysts are synthesized by Strong Electrostatic Adsorption method. Therefore, HDO catalysts are optimized by improved hydrothermal stability and controlled metal particle sizes.
