The expensive cost of PGMs in diesel oxidation catalysts has created a demand to better utilize these PGMs and to reduce the CO oxidation temperature through catalyst synthesis techniques.  Pt-Pd bimetallic catalysts synthesized by strong electrostatic adsorption have shown good reactivity and stability in a model diesel exhaust feed.
