Catalysts consisting of Ir and Ru supported on Al₂O₃ have been investigated for selective catalytic reduction of NO_X using CO as a reductant. The Ir-Ru/Al₂O₃ catalyst demonstrates a synergistic improvement in NO_X reduction activity, which is attributed to the alloying of Ir and Ru.
