Catalytic hydroprocessing of bio-oils was investigated in a semi-pilot scale continuous reactor system using highly dispersed catalysts and light cycle oil as reaction medium. Up to 90.3% oxygen removal was achieved, resulting in a final oil product that is stable and fully miscible with petroleum-derived distillates for further co-processing.
