Propylene, a building block of the Petrochemical Industry, can be obtained by the hydrogenation followed by the dehydration of acetone. This cetone can be generated from bioethanol. This contribution shows that oxygen mobility and the vacancies concentration of ZnyZrOx are very relevant properties for the acetone synthesis from ethanol.
