Flame spray pyrolysis and hydrothermal synthesis were used to prepare α-Bi₂Mo₃O₁₂, β-Bi₂Mo₂O₉ and γ-Bi₂MoO₆. Strikingly, FSP allowed preparing β-Bi₂Mo₂O₉ at high surface area which had a high catalytic performance in the selective oxidation of propylene to acrolein.
