In-situ Raman spectroscopy is applied to understand and interact with the hydrothermal synthesis of M1-type catalysts. The phase formation of the desired phases from dissolved metalate species is investigated under reaction conditions. Modification and partial metal substitution shows an influence on the reaction behavior in the selective oxidation of propane.
