P-Tu-B-144 Model Systems for Co Fischer-Tropsch Catalysts

The adsorption of submonolayer amounts of alkali metals (AM), CO and hydrocarbons on Co single crystal surfaces have been investigated with Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM), Low Energy Electron Diffraction (LEED) and Density Functional Theory (DFT). Preliminary STM results indicate the possibility of AM decorating the step edges on the surface.
