Alkali-exchanged BEA zeoliteswas examined using TPD-TGA measurements, FTIR, calorimetry, and reaction rates for reductive etherification reaction. The reactivities of the sites in TPD-TGA and calorimetry were found to decrease with increasing ion size. Li- Na- and K-BEA were all active for etherification reaction, but selectivities were different.
