The present contribution analyses, based on a combination of experimental work and mathematical modeling, the catalyst behavior under transient operation conditions and the importance of reaction kinetics in the design of catalytic reactors for transient operation. The Fischer-Tropsch synthesis with H2/CO2 using iron-based catalyst is the selected fuel-related reaction.
