Here we report the development of ultrastable Au nanoparticles epitaxially grown into ZnO nanowires and these catalysts exhibit excellent stability in SRM reaction. The well-defined surface structure of ZnO NWs and their strong interfacial interactions with Au are responsible for stabilizing Au nanoparticles at high temperatures.
