Bimetallic Ir-Ni Catalysts for Selective Hydrogenolysis of Glycerol

This work presents the application of Ir/γ-Al₂O₃ catalysts in hydrogenolysis of glycerol without the use of additives. The iridium catalyst was modified with small amounts of nickel to improve glycerol conversion, and obtain an efficient and selective process to produce 1,2-PDO.
