In direct dimethyl ether synthesis from syngas, the catalysts with smaller zeolite crystallites exhibit high reaction rate compared to the counterparts with larger zeolite crystallites.  The deactivation of hydride copper-ZSM-5 catalysts can be considerably slow down by neutralization of Bronzed acidy on the zeolite external surface.
