In thermochemical conversion of biomass to syngas and biofuels, effect of gas-phase alkali at on tar reforming catalyst is largely unknown. Combined with other inorganic impurities, we set out to study alkali adsorption rates, equilibrium coverages at different concentration levels, and effects on Ni-based catalyst performance under realistic industrial conditions.
