Water Adsorption and HC Interactions on Zeolite HC Traps

Hydrocarbon (HC) Traps are used for reducing the HC emissions during the engine cold start. This talk will present the results of laboratory and modeling study on interactions between adsorbing water and HC species on the zeolite sites. Exothermic effects of water adsorption on acidic zeolites will also be presented.
