HD exchange kinetics have been measured at 100 compositions across Cu_xPd₁_-x, Ag_xPd_1-x and Cu_xAu_yPd₁_-x-y composition spread alloy films. Photoemission spectroscopy has been used to measure the valence band density of states. We correlate measured reaction barriers for H₂ adsorption and desorption with the experimentally derived valence band energy.
