This work seeks to elucidate intrinsic periodic trends for the epoxidation of cyclohexene by H2O2.  Metallocalixarenes of TiIV, ZrIV, HfIV, VV, NbV and TaV have been grafted onto silica to yield a family of single-site metal oxide catalysts upon calcination.  We further investigate surface modifications for improved selectivity and activity.
