The reduction of NO by hydrogen to ammonia over a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst has been investigated by planar laser-induced fluorescence. The presented technique provides two-dimensional NO-concentration profiles in the gas phase above the catalytic channel wall to elucidate the interactions between surface kinetics and mass and heat transport.
