The environmentally benign and economic method of K2CO3 Catalyzed Transesterification under reactive distillation condition got both high yield (93 – 99 %) and high GC purity (>99%) of β-diol dibenzoates  from primary or secondary β-diols and methyl benzoate, and is suitable for industrial application featured by easy separation of the product and the catalyst.
