Keynote

Amine-functionalized siloxane oligomers were used successfully to prepare colloidal subnanometer Au particles.  Spectroscopic characterizations, during and at the end of the synthesis, identified parameters important in controlling the formation and stability of subnanometer Au particles.  These particles catalysed the reduction of p-nitrobenzaldehyde by triethylsilane to form an imine coupling product.
