Pentamethylimidazolium has been found to easily form aluminosilicate RTH in both fluoride and hydroxide mediated systems, across a wider composition range than was previously accessible. In the methanol to olefins reaction RTH produces a higher propylene to ethylene ratio than SSZ-13, as well as a higher selectivity to butene.
