A novel High Pore Volume (HPV) TiO₂ was developed and scaled up to industrial scale by Sachtleben Chemie GmbH. The novel HPV TiO₂ combines large pore volumes (0.8 ccm/g) and high SSA (typically 350 m²/g). Hydrotreating performance tests revealed better performance of HPV TiO₂ based catalysts than Al₂O₃ based catalysts.
