O-Th-Seg-8 Intermediate Steps in Nitrate Reduction on Metal Catalysts: Insight from Theory and Experiment

We use theoretical and experimental tools to study nitrite reduction.  Understanding the mechanism of reduction will help explain experimental results and aid design of new more selective catalysts for nitrate reduction. Our current results suggest selective reduction of the intermediate nitrous oxide to nitrogen and structure sensitivity to nitrite reduction.
