In-situ infrared analysis of benzene adsorption onto a solid amine sorbent and pellets revealed diffusion limitations of pellets, resulting from pore plugging by the binder.  Diffusion limitations corresponded to low CO2 capacity of the pellets.  Understanding mass transfer properties of solid amine sorbents and pellets enables development of industry scale technology.
