A family of supported bimetallic catalysts were formed consisting of segregated osmium and rhodium sites on magnesium oxide. The osmium and rhodium species remained segregated in increasing temperatures in hydrogen. This class of catalyst offers new opportunities for bifunctional catalysis by tuning the nuclearities of the separate metal species.
