Biomass-derived oxygenate compounds are efficiently transformed into hydrocarbons over MoO3 catalysts at low H2 pressures. The model compounds used in this study include acetone, 2-hexanone, cyclohexanone, anisole, 2-methylfuran, and 2,5-dimethyfuran. The effects of H2 pressures, water contents on the catalyst performance were investigated.
