Fundamental understanding gas-phase alkali interactions influencing tar reforming over Ni intermetallides. Increased concentration of gas phase alkali caused higher concentration of adsorbed alkali on the surface. Thus, the amount of 1-methylnapthtalene in the gas phase and the surface coke formation was reduced in the presence of gas phase alkali.
