O-Tu-Com-13 Evaluation of Catalyst Pellets Under Gradientless Conditions Using Two Different Types of Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors

Using experimentally determined mass transfer coefficients for a Rotoberty™ continuous stirred tank reactor (CSTR) and a novel small CSTR amenable for incorporation into high-throughput arrays, the film temperature and concentration gradients for ethylene epoxidation catalysts in both devices were estimated.  Consequences for device selection and catalyst testing is also discussed.
