Micro-fibrous entrapped catalyst (MFEC) beds were compared to packed beds for Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. The use of copper MFEC resulted in uniform temperature profiles, higher selectivity to desired hydrocarbons, higher conversion, and less catalyst deactivation when compared to traditional packed bed reactors.
