Narrowly distributed ca. 2nm nickel-silicide colloidal nanoparticles were synthesized under mild conditions and were supported on oxides to form catalysts having nickel dispersions up to 71%. They present high performances in CO2-reforming of CH4, the presence of silicon at the nickel edge playing a key role for the catalysts stability.
