Solution combustion synthesis (SCS), a one-step technique for preparation of complex metal oxides was used for the synthesis of several catalyst series for oxidative coupling of methane (OCM). The 5%La-10%Na2WO4-5%Mn/SiO2 showed high ethylene/ethane ratio ~3.6 with high C2 yield ~27%, indicating that SCS is promising for OCM catalysts.
