P-W-BRC-12 Decarboxylation of Oleic Acid over Solid Catalysts

We explored the effect of different catalysts and environment on decarboxylation of oleic acid to heptadecane. Preliminary results suggest that Pt-SAPO is promising in conversion of oleic acid to heptadecane. Future experiments will focus in investigating the effect of temperature, pressure and reaction time on decarboxylation reation of oleic acid.
