P-M-BRC-103 Mitigating Nitrate/Nitrite Water Emissions through Bimetal-catalyzed Reduction

We study the surface coverage dependent nitrite reduction catalyzed by Pd-on-Au bimetallic nanoparticles. Compared with the tradition supported Pd/Al2O3 catalyst, our Pd-on-Au NP catalyst exhibited several merits: high activity (~10 times higher than Pd/Al2O3), high selectivity (>99% selectivity to N2) and good deactivation to nature water ion like Cl-.
