P-M-BRC-102 Structure-activity Relationship of MoO3/SiO2 Catalyst for Biomass Upgrading

Using sol-gel method for MoO3/SiO2 catalyst, monomeric and oligomeric MoO3 are formed at low loading and active for aldol condensation of butyraldehyde. While decarbonylation activity is observed for polymeric and crystalline MoO3 obtained at higher loading. Impregnation leads to the formation of polymeric species even at low loading.
