O-Th-Fre-3 Mechanistic Insight on the Synthesis of Higher Alcohols from Syngas: Role of K Promotion on MoS2 Catalysts

We apply operando infrared spectroscopy in combination with high throughput  measurements to elucidate the promotion effect of potassium on MoS2 catalysts. The promoter does not only change the electronic properties of the catalyst, but also stabilizes the alkoxy type species, which are important intermediates in the syngas to alcohol route.
