Isotope Tracer Studies and Alkylidene Mechanism of Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis

The inverse kinetic isotope effect and the deuterium enrichments in hydrocarbons as a function of carbon number observed during cobalt and iron catalyzed Fischer-Tropsch synthesis originate from the C-C bond formation and can be explained by alkylidene mechanism.
