In the development of a novel catalyst for tar reforming applications two synthesis methods are investigated; strong electrostatic adsorption (SEA) and dry impregnation (DI). A detailed, systematic synthesis study has been conducted to apply SEA to Ni/Al2O3 and Co/Al2O3 systems. Catalyst characterization shows preparation method greatly affects final catalytic properties.
