O-M-BRA-11 Intermolecular Hydrogen Transfer for the Conversion of Cellobiose to Sorbitol and Gluconic Acid by Supported Ruthenium Catalyst

Ru/BP2000 catalyst was active for the conversion of cellobiose to sorbitol and gluconic acid. XANES measurements have revealed that the active Ru species during the reaction are composed of partially oxidized Ru metal. This work clearly shows that the catalytic disproportionation of glucose and polysaccharides is possible.
