Catalytic Conversion of Hemicellulose to Sugars and Sugar Alcohols

Switching from crude oil to biomass as the source for chemicals is the big challenge we chemists face in the 21^st century. While cellulose and lignin are the subject of many studies, there are very few reports on valorization of hemicellulose. Here we report our recent results on hemicellulose valorization.
