P-M-Wil-6 Catalytic Oxidation of 2-methylnaphthalene and 2-methyl-1-naphthol with 1%Au over Hyper Crosslinked Polystyrene Catalyst

This paper is devoted to the methods of menadione synthesis. 2-methylnaphthalene and 2-methyl-1-naphthol were used as substrates. It was found that the best selectivity is achieved by using 30% H2O2. for 1%Au/HPS catalyst. The product yield is 58% during the catalytic oxidation (1%Au/HPS catalyst) of 2-methylnaphthalene and 73% for 2-methyl-1-naphthol.
