The effect of atomic layer deposition of CeO2 on solid oxide fuel cell cathode performance was studied in an effort to understand how surface modifications affect oxygen exchange active sites and kinetics. The results provide insight on the criteria for promoters that aim to enhance oxygen exchange rates on perovskites.
