In the study of glycerol dehydration via FTIR, formation of alkoxy bond under evacuation is evident when there is less than a monolayer of glycerol on the surface of the catalyst. From 250°C onwards, π-allyl, enol and acetate intermediates were the most abundant surface species found on the surface.
