We developed tungsten based catalysts which can selectively perform deoxygenation of vegetable oil based feeds via either decarboxylation/decarbonylation or hydrodeoxygenation pathways, determined by the dominant tungsten phase. These catalysts facilitate the upgrading of vegetable oil based feeds in hydrogen atmosphere to high-value olefinic products.
