Sintering of supported Pt nanoparticles was studied in situ and in real time by indirect nanoplasmonic sensing (INPS). By comparing the INPS kinetic curves with high temporal resolution and transmission electron microscopy analysis, quantitative understanding of sintering mechanisms for Pt nanoparticles on different support materials was obtained.
