Noble metal chloride catalysts are suitable catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination because they have high standard electrode potential. Nevertheless, stability is low it can be promoted by CuCl2. Novel relation between stability of bimetallic catalysts and differential reduction potential between noble metal chlorides and CuCl2 was found in this work.
