Noble metal encapsulated heirarchical zeolites were prepared by using an amphiphilic organosilane surfactant. Activity of the noble metal catalysts was evaluated by hydrogenation of aromatics. This work demonstrates the existence of hydrogen spillover and the role of acidic component in aromatic hydrogenation reactions.
