A Langmuir Hinshelwood kinetic model incorporating liquid phase equilibrium analysis has been proposed for the hydrogenation reaction of phenolic molecules at the water/oil interface of emulsions stabilized by amphiphilic catalyst nanoparticles.  This study has an impact on the upgrading of bio-oils in biphasic liquid systems.
