We have discovered a simple, green method for synthesizing high surface area TiO2. Using this process we have prepared 3nm microporous rutile and 3nm anatase (surface areas of 100 m2/g and 490 m2/g respectively). Properties can be controlled by the addition of dopants and variations in precursor treatment.
